SAN JOSE, CA - July 2024 - San Jose singer and performer Melissa Marielle received her first Young Artist Award for Outstanding Music Vocalist – Youth Artist for her vocal performance of “All I Ask.” The award was presented at the 45th Young Artist Awards on July 21, 2024, at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood, California. The ceremony was hosted by actor Neal McDonough. Melissa was recognized for her cover of Adele’s “All I Ask,” marking an exciting milestone in her young performing career. The Young Artist Awards recognize talented young performers across entertainment and have a long history of celebrating emerging artists.
For Melissa, attending the ceremony was an experience she will always remember. She attended with her family and had the opportunity to meet fellow young performers, make new friends, and meet social media friends in person for the first time. “I was so excited to win my first Young Artist Award in Hollywood,” said Melissa Marielle. “It was an amazing experience to be surrounded by so many talented young performers. Knowing that artists like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus had also received Young Artist Awards made the moment even more special for me.”
Although Melissa did not perform during the awards ceremony, she performed at the Pre-Awards Party the day before, singing Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie” and Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.”
At the time of her award, Melissa was actively performing throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including National Anthem performances for local sports teams, musical theater, and touring as the lead singer of Le Petit Cirque. She credits her vocal coach Grace Kinstler for helping her develop confidence and encouraging her to continue working toward her musical goals. Melissa also extends her gratitude to her family, the Young Artist Academy, and Nathalie Yves Gaulthier, founder and CEO of Le Petit Cirque.
Winning her first Young Artist Award gave Melissa additional motivation to continue pursuing what she loves most, music.
